Locally made Masks

One of our biggest concerns over the lockdown period was to ensure that our hotel staff still had some kind of income. Eunice Myeni has worked in the housekeeping department at Ghost Mountain Inn for 31 years in October.  She is our ‘go to’ for any of our our sewing needs. So we approached her to make face masks for the staff.  We found some bright fabric in Durban for the exterior and used old hotel sheets for the inner layers. This kept Eunice busy at home, earning her some additional income and keeping our people safe.

Our long-term goal is to set up some ladies in a sewing project so we can supply staff uniforms, sheets, masks and curios.  Thereby creating sustainable incomes within our community.
