Mandela Day 2017
Our General Manager, Jean, and the Ghost Mountain Inn team decided to assist a local pre-school in the Mkhuze area to honour Mandela Day 2017.
This particular school looks after 90 children and the facilities were in desperate need of repair. The jungle gym was repaired and the vegetable garden was cleaned up and fenced to keep the chickens and goats out! Window panes were replaced and all panes secured. Interiors were painted and blackboards were added. The team got creative and even created a fun mural for the children!
However Mandela Day is not the only day that we wish to give back to the community. Ghost Mountain Inn, through it’s Ndumu Charitable Foundation, and with the assistance of guests and local businesses operates various programs to assist local communities and conservation efforts to thrive.
Our community development programs have 3 main objectives: well-educated children; the development and support of small enterprises; and an enhanced awareness of conservation and sustainable practices in our business and community.
